Hello Peter,

The file playback system in AudioTX Communicator is indeed meant to playback pre-recorded items. Like for example a reporter in the field would do - interview people in the street and later while being live on air playback the interviews as part of the report.

If you want to playback a session that you just recorded with Wavepad then you need a separate sound card for Wavepad. This then allows you to use a little mixer to mix the output of that sound card with the sound of your microphone and offer that audio on the input of the sound card used by Communicator.

The reason for using two sound cards is that you want to keep the audio received from the ISDN separate. If you do not keep it separate then the person on the other side will receive their own audio back as a nasty echo.

Best regards,

Edwin

Does anyone know where I might be able to get hold of the v6.34 firmware for the CDQ Prima Revision 6 motherboard range? I have recently upgraded my 220 to v6.40 which is on the Musicam USA website and have been having a few problems with it. I would like to downgrade back to 6.34 to see if this clears things up.

Thank you

Most codecs can dial back in to themselves so you can dial from B1-->B2 or B1-->B3, B2--->B4 etc...

Techical support - APT Tokyo ISDN test numbers and Webacces password

Hello,

Those test numbers are non-operational. The Tokyo is quite an old unit.

The username and password for the web access is either:

username: Admin
password: Power

username: Admin
password: PowerUser

I'll double check this and get back to you.

It would be better to use the original software though. Have you gone to the Settings menu and tried remote settings (automatic)? Make sure you have UDP scan set to "yes".

Hello Crilley,

Send me an email at cmccrisken@aptcodecs.com and I can certainly arrange to perform a test connection with you when I have the chance.

SPIDs are for the USA ISDN network and do not apply to the rest of the world so you don't need to enter anything for those settings.

You can also test your unit by dialing back in to itself and seeing if it connects.

Techical support - ISDN v. DSL

Hello GaryK,

Using the Internet for audio sessions is something AudioTX Communicator (Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to or ) users have been doing for a number of years now. The benefits are not only the low running costs, but also the fact that most broadband connections allow you to use a higher bitrate (and thus audio quality) for the connection when compared to the 128kbps limit of a single ISDN line.

The downside is that ISDN and broadband are completely different technologies. To be able to connect to a standard ISDN codec (like a CDQ Prima or a Telos Zephyr) you need to use an ISDN call and you can't do this over the Internet. Unless you use a third party bridging service.

To see if you can stop having an ISDN line you need to speak with the people you regularly do sessions with. If they are already using AudioTX Communicator then they will be able to take calls over the Internet as well as ISDN. If they do not use Communicator then they may still be interested in switching over due to the lower running cost.. To do audio sessions over the Internet you need to have AudioTX Communicator as well of course.

Another way of doing sessions over the Internet is described here: Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to or .

Anyone got any thoughts why this might be?
I'm in the UK, I've tried a software update. I've checked TA settings for TA201. The thing that's driving me mental is, it used to work fine, but now noone can dial me. (No response) Though it works perfectly when I dial out.
Would it be a settings issue or could it be something to do with the hardware itself?
Thanx
Swartho

Hi, I'm in Japan and have a Glensound GSGC25 and am planning to have a a call made to this box from England. The England box is a GSGC6 which seems to have limited codec capacity G722 and ATx. I expect that the 25 will receive the call and switch automatically, but wondering if anybody has had experience with this?? Does it work?

Does anyone know where I may be able to get hold of a TA201 for a CCS prima 220? Current installation is a TA301 but have been told this won't work in the U.K unless of course there's anyway to get round this as a new TA seems to be around the £600 mark Methinks it may be easier to buy a second hand Prima LT and sell the 220.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciatied.

Mark
